How We Work

How We Work

"Quality Care Where Children Come First"

At Mother Goose Nursery we believe the 'Welfare of the Child is Paramount' therefore our team work tirelessly to ensure that you and your child recieve the best possible care.  We believe that each child is an individual and must be treated as such.  We believe in fair treatment of everyone and practice Equal Opportunities at every level.

Settling in visits

All children are unique and the amount of time that a child takes to settle into our Nursery can vary enormously.  Children will be given time to settle in at their own pace, ensuring they feel welcome, safe and confident.

We encourage parents to help during this time.

Key person

Each child is allocated a key person who will be responsible for monitoring the child's progress and keeping records about each child in their care.  Parents can view their child's records at any time online via our online learning journal- Tapestry ,and we welcome any observations and pictures taken at home.  The key person is also the first point of contact for parents and daily updates can be made to meet the needs of each individual child.

Daily Diary (Babycare)

Each child receives a daily diary which provides communication between home and nursery. In the diary we write information on how well your child's day has gone, what activities they have been involved in, what they have eaten and information on nappy changes and so on.

Sleeping

We follow the Department of Health's guidelines on sleep and take account of individual wishes.  Our policy on sleeping can be viewed within the Parent Information area of our web site.

Healthy Meals and Snacks - snacks and high tea are provided free of charge and lunch is a hot Home Cooked meal prepared and served by Chef Daniel. In our 5* rated premises.

Breakfast Buffet/Hot Lunch/High Tea

Parents of babies 6 months-1 year old are asked to provide all meals and snacks. Fresh food will need to be provided daily and formula milk bottles must be supplied ready made each day in labelled containers and bottles.

We are one of the first day nurseries to provide a Breakfast Buffet and Hot meal service, which we still offer at a competitive rate and endeavour to meet all dietary needs and keep food appealing to children yet healthy and nutritionally balanced.  See our current Menu displayed at nursery reception.
